My desire is to help you create a space that is entirely you. My experiences, along with educating myself and staying current with trends allows me to work within many different design aesthetics. However, because of my own personal lifestyle, I tend to have a warm, inviting, casual, and family friendly vibe to my designs. I like blending timeless and classic furniture pieces with trendy or modern accents, using fun touches of pattern and color to add personality to a room. I put emphasis on function so spaces make sense and work for everyday life, and I like to use materials that are practical and durable. If this sounds like you, then we could be a great style fit!
To begin the design process, I offer a complimentary 15 minute Discovery Call. We will briefly talk about your design needs and see if we are a good fit to work together. Next, you will set up an in-home Design Consultation and receive my Design Questionnaire. Together we will determine what is the best process to follow for your project. No matter what design process we follow, work on the project begins once the terms of agreement is signed and an initial deposit of design fees are received. The following outlines the general progression and individual stages of the design process, but each project is unique and will be tailored to meet your specific needs.
E-Design projects do not require an in-home design consultation. For more information on E-Design, click here.
This phase in design is all about information gathering, such as site-verification and photographing the existing space.
Design Concept Development:
The Designer will create and present a design plan to the Client to include floor plans, room renderings, and design boards used to set forth the overall design intent.
The Designer will provide further detailed drawings, such as elevations to be used by the Client and their hired contractors/consultants to execute the design.
The Designer will select finishes, fixtures, and furnishings for the project. These services begins during the design concept development phase and is further defined as the project progresses. These selections can be given to the Client in the form of specifications/shopping links and through procurement services provided by the Designer. The Designer can also provide shopping assistance by meeting with Client at local vendor showrooms.
The designer will coordinate with other consultants, schedule site visits to ensure design intent is actualized, and provide a final styling service to complete the space.
My design services are based upon my hourly rate. Each project is unique but I will do my best to estimate the hours required to complete your project. Services such as E-Design, in-home Design Consultations, and Color Consultations are a flat fee and purchased in advance.
My in-home design consultations are scheduled for 2 hours. At this appointment, we will discuss your project in more detail. I will have reviewed your design questionnaire and may have further questions to better understand the total scope of work, my time involved, and how I can best assist you. During this time we will also discuss solutions to some of your design concerns, I like to share ideas and leave you feeling confident about making positive changes in your home. I follow up all design consultations with a Design Action Plan for you to implement whether you chose to further our working relationship or not. Because I bring expertise, ideas, and value to this meeting, I do not offer free in-home design consultations.
Having a budget is extremely important to the overall success of the project. Not having a realistic budget leads to frustration and unmet expectations. I have experience working with all types of budgets and I make it a priority to respect the one you determine. I also provide multiple ways in which I can help you with your project goals, from services like Color Consultations and E-Design, to more comprehensive and traditional interior design assistance.
I work with the contractors and consultants hired by the client. I enjoy working with other professionals to help create and achieve your custom space. I do not, however, hire or provide project management/oversight of the work provided by other contractors or consultants.
To keep my business practices simplified, I offer procurement services for furniture and décor items only. I will provide a detail specification document for all other materials and finishes used in your project. Procurement services are charged at my hourly rate.
