Blended Living

A new home, an upcoming marriage, and the blending of two families had this couple seeking the help of KHID to create a family friendly space that combined design styles and functionalities. 

New finishes, such as wood flooring and paint, were selected to update and create a classic and neutral backdrop throughout the entire home. The couple desired a fresh start, so new furnishings and decor were needed for two primary spaces in the home, the formal living area and a family room. These selections were carefully made to reflect their style as a couple and a new family.

Entertaining was a priority in the formal living room and the space was arranged in a way that fosters conversation. The selection of two swivel chairs created an organic flow between the living area and the adjacent dining room. The black fireplace mantle and geometric tile create a simple and striking focal point, and the emerald chase lounge beckons its users to relax by the fire. The family room was outfitted with a large, sweater-soft sectional and a plush rug ideal for enjoying family movie nights
