What is KHID's design style?
At KHID, the goal is to create a space that reflects our Client's lifestyle and needs. However, certain design aesthetics are present in our projects because of personal lifestyle choices and experiences. Kandi Hernandez Interior Design emphasizes quality, detail, and livability into each design or decorating project. Creating warm and inviting living spaces that work for everyday life and encourage connection and positivity is a value at KHID.
What does the turnkey design process look like?
The following outlines the general progression of a full service interior design process.
- Complimentary Discovery Call
- Project Consultation
- Signing of Terms of Agreement/Initial payment of design fees
- Site Verification: on-site measurements, meet with contractors/trades
- Development of Design Concept
- Design presentation with Client
- Finalize interior plans
- Procurement & Project Fulfillment Services: Initiation of construction
- Furniture Installation and Client Reveal
- Project Closure
How does the design concept plan process work?
The following outlines the general progression of a Design Concept Plan.
- Virtual kick-off meeting
- Signing of Terms of Agreement/Initial payment of design fees
- Obtain project measurements and images
- Development of Design Concept
- Virtual design presentation with Client
- Final payment of design fees
- Delivery of final Design Concept Plan
- Project follow-up call/Project closure

How do you charge for your design services?
KHID design fees are proposed as a flat fee rate based upon the total scope of work. A proposal of design fees will be determined following a Project Consultation for Turnkey Design Services or a virtual kick off meeting for Design Concept Plans. Download our Investment Guide for more details.
All Consultation Services are paid upon booking.
The Confident Consultation: $400
Project Consultation: $300
What will be covered at a Project Consultation?
A Project Consultation is essential prior to starting a Turnkey Design project. At this 1-1.5 hour appointment, the design project will be discussed in detail to better understand the total scope of work, time involved, and share KHID's design processes. Be prepared to brainstorm ideas, look at color palettes, and view inspirational photos so Kandi Hernandez has a complete understanding of your lifestyle. A Proposal of design fees will be prepared following the consultation.
Do you, the designer, make purchases on the Clients behalf?
Kandi Hernandez Interior Design offers procurement services for decorative items such as furnishings, light fixtures, wall-coverings, window treatments, fabrics, and décor. For items that KHID does not procure, a specification will be given for Client or Contractor purchasing. We value collaborating with other professionals in our industry to serve our Client's best interest and believe successful projects come through teamwork.
Does KHID work with Clients outside of the Edmond, Oklahoma area?
Yes, we can provide design services for Clients outside of our local area. For Clients located 30 miles outside of the Edmond area, we charge an hourly travel fee.
